What is the hawaii.edu Microsoft Domain?
The hawaii.edu Microsoft Domain is a dedicated instance of Microsoft 365 cloud services that was previously unmanaged but has since been taken over by UH ITS. As a result, all active affiliates with the University of Hawaii now have user accounts in the hawaii.edu Microsoft Domain available for use with web-based versions of core Office apps covered under the Microsoft 365 A1 license.
Accessing the hawaii.edu Microsoft Domain
Please note that all existing users who last changed their UH Password before May 2026 will need to change their UH password once more in order for their password to sync over to this service. Additionally, this service does not grant access to the Microsoft Office desktop applications.
- Go to https://myapps.microsoft.com/hawaii.edu
- At the Sign in prompt, enter your UH email address and click Next
- Note: You may be prompted to login with either a Work or school account or Personal account if you have made a personal Microsoft account with your hawaii.edu email in the past. Please select Work or school account here.
- At the Enter password prompt, enter your UH password and click Sign in
- At the Verification Required prompt, click Continue
- The site will redirect to your Duo MFA, complete the authentication.
- After completing the Duo MFA authentication, a Stay signed in? prompt may appear. Choose Yes or No based on your preference.
Account and Data Retention Policy
Accounts in the hawaii.edu Microsoft Domain are assigned a storage quota of 25GB that cannot be upgraded, changed, or otherwise altered. Please note that the hawaii.edu Microsoft Domain is only accessible by active University of Hawaii affiliates only. 'Ohana users do not have access to the hawaii.edu Microsoft Domain. Users who transition from an active affiliation with the University to 'Ohana will lose access to their hawaii.edu Microsoft Domain account and and any data stored on this account will be deleted.
