Overview
This article provides instructions for faculty on how to issue registration overrides. Only active, primary instructors can perform this action.
Issuing Registration Overrides
Overrides are issued when a student receives an unresolvable error message or is otherwise unable to register for a course. Once an override is applied, the student must add the course to their schedule. Faculty are only able to issue overrides for one student at a time.
- Log in to the Faculty and Advisor Self-Service Dashboard (link), then click Registration Overrides to display the Student and Advisee ID Selection tool.
- Click the drop-down menu near the top left of the page to select a Term.
- Enter the student’s UH ID number or username (UPPERCASE) in the Student or Advisee ID field. There are also fields to search by the student’s First Name and/or Last Name.
- Select a Search Type (i.e., Students, Advisee, or Both).
- Click Submit, then select the correct student from the list below to access the Registration Overrides page.
- Click the drop-down menus to select an Override and the related Course. To issue multiple overrides for the same student, click Add Override located to the right of the drop-down menus.
- Click Submit to display a list of all Current Student Overrides.
To successfully search by the student’s First Name and/or Last Name, they must be previously associated with the faculty (i.e., advisor/advisee and/or faculty/student relationship).
