Overview
This article provides instructions for you to learn how to use the Duo Device Management Portal (link) to edit, delete, or reactivate your Duo Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) device(s)
Reactivating the Duo Mobile App
This does not apply to landlines or those with both a new device and new phone number.
If you have a new device but have the same phone number, you will need to reactivate the Duo Mobile app on your new device:
- Go to the Duo Device Management Portal (link) and login using your UH username and password
- If your device automatically uses the Duo Push option, click on Other options at the bottom
- When you see Other options to log in, select Phone call and on your phone, answer the call and press 1 on the keypad to approve the login and proceed
- For Is this your device?, choose Yes if its a personal device; or No if the device is shared
- You will now be asked to authenticate again at the Verify your identity before managing devices dialog, where you can use the Phone Call option once more
- In the square with the phone number or device you would like to reactivate, click I have a new phone
- A dialog will appear saying Let's set up your phone, click on Get started
- In the Confirm ownership dialog, click on Send me a passcode to receive a verification code sent to your phone number
- When you see the Passcode sent dialog, enter the verification code you received and click on Verify
- On the Download Duo Mobile dialog, if you have not yet already, download the app from the App Store or Google Play, then click Next
- When you see the quick response (QR) code displayed, open the Duo Mobile app on your phone:
- If you are asked if you want to allow Duo Mobile to sent notifications, please allow notifications
- Press the Add + icon on the top right and select Use QR Code (If you are asked if you want to allow Duo Mobile to access the camera, please allow access)
- Point your phone's camera at the QR code and it will automatically recognize it when scanned
- When you see Added Duo Mobile, you can click on Continue to finish the reactivation

- You will now be asked to authenticate again at the Verify your identity before managing devices dialog
- In the square with the phone number or device you would like to delete, click on Edit
- A dropdown will appear, click on Delete
- In the Delete [device name]? dialog, select Delete [device name] (device name is the name of the device on Duo)

- You will now be asked to authenticate again at the Verify your identity before managing devices dialog
- In the square with the phone number or device you would like to delete, click on Edit
- A dropdown will appear, click on Rename
- In the Rename [device name] dialog, enter the new name (device name is the name of the device on Duo) then select Rename
