LTI Integration

What is an LTI Integration?

Learning Tools Interoperability (LTI) is a standard that allows Instructional Third-Party Online Tools to be launched within a learning platform, such as Lamakū (LMS).

LTI enables a secure exchange of information between Lamakū and an external learning tool, such as course information, user identity, and feedback from external tools. LTI integration allows students to move between tools with minimal effort, and provides secure access for both students and faculty.

An LTI Integration Request Form should be submitted when...

  1. A faculty member is interested in accessing an Instructional Third-Party Online Tool(s) through Lamakū; AND,
  2. The tool(s) is listed in the Online Innovation Center's ITS Reviewed Instructional Third-Party Online Tools as approved or conditionally approved; AND,
  3. LTI integration is available.

Steps to complete before submitting this form:

  1. Check the Online Innovation Center's ITS Reviewed Instructional Third-Party Online Tools list.
  2. If your tool is listed as approved or conditionally approved, confirm whether the tool offers LTI integration by checking Column H. If yes, the column will have a link that will take you to this form. If no, then LTI integration is not available.
  3. If your tool is not listed, submit a UHOIC Submit Tool for Review. Indicate you are interested in LTI integration. After the tool has been reviewed, the OIC team will contact you with the results and direct you, as needed.
  4. You can also do a preliminary check by Googling whether your tool offers LTI integration.
