This article walks you through the steps to opt-in to Google's Consumer Applications on your personal or departmental UH username. This is an opt-in service only, meaning there is no way to opt-out. By opting-in, you are agreeing to the terms governed by Google's Terms of Services (link) and/or application specific terms.
How to Enable Google Consumer Apps
- Open a web browser and visit www.hawaii.edu/google/extra
- Click the Login button.
- Log in using your UH username and password for the account you wish to update.
- Review the Google Terms of Service (TOS) and Privacy Policy.
- If you do not want to enable Consumer Apps, click Logout and stop here.
- Check the box I have read and understand the above, and would like to proceed with turning on the Consumer Apps for my Google@UH account.
- Click Turn on Consumer Apps.
- Make sure you see a message confirming that you have successfully turned on Consumer Apps.
- Close your web browser.
The first time you open a Google App (Core or Consumer) after enabling Consumer Apps, you will see a pop-up prompting you to agree to the TOS and Privacy Policy. You must accept to use Consumer Apps.
