UH Username - How to Find Your UH ID Number

Overview

Your UH Number is a unique 8-digit number used for identification purposes within the UH System. All users are assigned a UH Number, including students, faculty, and staff members. Users are assigned a single UH Number and the UH Number assigned to an individual persists even if they graduate or leave the University and then return. For example, if you complete an undergraduate degree, then return to the University two years later to pursue a graduate degree, your UH Number will be the same.

Your UH Number may be displayed or represented as a single 8-digit string, or as two 4-digit strings separated by a hyphen. For example, '12345678' or '1234-5678'.

Finding your UH ID Number

There are several ways to locate your UH number:

  • Those who have already created their UH Username can find their UH Number online by going to the UH Username Management site (link), clicking on Manage UH Account button, and then logging in using your UH Username and Password. Your UH ID Number will be displayed at the top left corner of the screen.
  • Students without a UH Username can find their UH Number on their acceptance letter sent by their UH home campus.
  • Faculty/staff may receive their UH ID Number from their Human Resources officer within their department.
  • If you were issued a physical ID card by your campus' ID office, your UH number may be printed on the card.
