All current students, faculty, and staff at the University of Hawaii system and campuses will be eligible for a Github Enterprise account beginning in the Fall of 2026. Bookmark and return to this page to sign up once the service is available or submit your early interest in Github Enterprise to receive more information as it becomes available. Access will available to all UH academic departments, academic research groups, and non-academic departments as long as they are not profiting from its use.
Note: you may be required to change your UH password to access this service. This is due to security requirements of Github and other new services.
Upon first login, you will be asked to sign up or link an existing account like the screenshot below. Click either Sign up for Github or Sign in if you already have a Github account and you wish to link it to your University of Hawaii address.

Github accounts are portable! Before you graduate or leave the university system, be sure to remove your UH email address from your Github account and add a personal email address. Your personal repositories and work will remain in your account, but you will lose access to any non-public UH repositories.
Students are eligible for Github Copilot Pro and the Github Student Development Pack. For access, you must apply through your Github account at https://github.com/settings/education/benefits
Faculty are also eligible for Github Copilot Pro. For access, you must apply by submitting proof of academic employment, such as a faculty ID or employment verification letter, using your UH Github account through the GitHub Education for Teachers portal.
Staff members may purchase a Github Copilot Pro license (coming soon).
Note: Ohana accounts are not eligible for Github Enterprise accounts.
